Defense structures protect the island, but they still depend on placement, staffing, and supply.

Gun tower progression

Small, Medium, and Large Gun Towers must face an Attack Point. Each uses one Greenhand. Small and Large towers consume Black Powder; the Medium tower also consumes Cannonballs.

The Medium tower upgrades from the Small tower, and the Large tower upgrades from the Medium tower. Confirm the attack-facing position before committing the construction chain.

Principle support

Empire offers the Mercenaries' Guildhall, which boosts defense towers in range, and the Military Fortress at the later point gate. The Fortress is described as an indestructible defense structure, but its large construction cost still needs preparation.

Keep ammunition moving

Use the production planner for Black Powder. Then inspect the Fetcher routes supplying each defense point. A tower with an empty input is only a silhouette.
